How can screed cracks and artificial joints be permanently closed and friction sealed? 

With UZIN KR 516.

Cracks and artificial joints must be closed prior to floor covering work. While artificial joints have been deliberately made in the surface, cracks represent damages which may have different causes. In both cases, the edges of the screed plates must be “sewn” together again to avoid subsequent markings in the surface of the floor covering. Only 2-component products, capable of building high internal strengths in a short time, are suitable for the friction-sealed connection of the screed edges. The 2-component silicate resin UZIN KR 516 stands out in particular by its early strength which is reached extremely rapidly. The curing time can be controlled by the amount of hardener added.

 

 

<p>Step 1: First widen the cracks to allow UZIN KR 516 to be easily poured into  them. Treat cracks extending through the entire thickness of the screed by cutting cross-cuts down to 2/3 of the screed depth spaced approx. 25 cm apart; use an angle grinder for this purpose (e.g. Wolff screed groove cutter EF 135).</p>

<p>Step 3: Pour the contents of the component A bottle into the component B  bottle and close it. Now mix vigorously for 15 seconds. The consistency can be freely chosen from thin (2 minutes) to highly viscous (6 minutes)
depending on the setting time.</p>

<p>Step 5: Sand introduced resin with UZIN Silica Sand 0.8 while still damp to achieve a good bond with subsequent materials. Vacuum off loose sand after setting.</p>

<p>Step 6: The crack is friction-sealed and closed within 30 minutes. The top cover installation can be continued. Clean tools immediately after use with the cleaning cloths of the UZIN Clean-Box.</p>
