How can new floor coverings be safely installed over old floor finishes or over damp or contaminated surfaces?

Substrates that have, for example, high residual moisture content or contamination from oil and grease usually require laborious and expensive surface preparation. This work can be avoided by using the stabilising underlay UZIN RR 185. The underlay has slip-resistant foam studs on the underside that separate the top covering from the substrate. Between the underlay and the substrate, there is a thin air-layer; traffic over it creates a pump-effect so that moisture can escape at the edges. High residual moisture no longer has a damaging effect on the flooring construction. As the stabilising underlay is loose-laid, the flooring construction can be easily removed, leaving no residue, at a later date.
